Genesis 12:1-3
‘Said the Eternal to Abram, “Leave your country, leave your kindred, leave your father’s house, for a land that I will show you; I will make a great nation of you and bless you and make you famous for your bliss; those who bless you, I will bless, and anyone who curses you I will curse, till all nations of the world seek bliss such as yours.”

Genesis 18:12
‘So Sarah laughed to herself. “Marriage-bliss for a worn old creature like me, with an old husband!”

Genesis 18:17, 18
‘Abraham went to escort them, and the Eternal thought, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am going to do, seeing that Abraham is to become a large and powerful nation, and that all the nations of the world are to seek bliss like his?”‘

Genesis 22:17, 18
‘After Abraham offered Isaac, the Eternal said to him… ‘I will indeed make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the sea-shore; your descendants shall conquer the seats of their foes, and all nations on earth shall seek bliss like theirs- and all because you have obeyed my word.’

..but the grace of God in Christ is able to overcome even this power of sin when intensified by the law and to bring man back to divine favor and assure him of eternal bliss.
